Education Student Accounts (ESA+)
Program Announcement - 7/27/2026
On July 7, 2026, the North Carolina state budget was signed into law, providing additional scholarship funds for families who submitted an eligible ESA+ application during the 2026 priority application period but were not offered a scholarship.
NCSEAA extended additional 2026-27 ESA+ scholarship offers on July 27, 2026. Families must accept or decline scholarship offers in MyPortal by Monday, August 17, 2026.
NCSEAA was able to offer scholarships to most of the eligible students in the lottery priority order. These families have until August 17 to accept the offer. After that date, NCSEAA will determine if additional awards can be made.
Families who submitted an eligible application during the 2026 priority application period but did not receive an award should monitor MyPortal and check the program website for information on additional awards.
Please note: the ESA+ program is no longer accepting applications for new students for the 2026-27 school year.
